The Office of the Bishop has issued the following notice:
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We are saddened to inform you of the death of the Rev. Richard H. Downes on Dec. 23, 2016, in Bedford. Dick was ordained to the priesthood in 1968 and spent most of his ordained ministry in Episcopal schools. Prior to his retirement in 2003, Dick was priest-in-charge and then rector at Church of the Redeemer in Chestnut Hill.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., at the Parish of the Epiphany, 70 Church Street, Winchester. Clergy are invited to vest (white stoles).
May the soul of God’s faithful servant departed rest in peace and may light perpetual shine upon him.
