Hear the music, feel the spirit! St. Bartholomew's Church in Cambridge presents a benefit gospel concert to celebrate its 100th anniversary. This afternoon of inspirational music and liturgical dance will feature the Boston Community Choir and liturgical dancers Ingrid Broadnax, of Consecration Ministries, Apex, North Carolina and Dara Broadnax, of Mt. Joe Luebke, director of horticulture and grounds at the National Cathedral, will present an illustrated talk discussing the gardens and grounds of the National Cathedral. Mr. Luebke manages all aspects of horticulture and grounds maintenance for the 57-acre property. “Promoting Peaceful Centers and Compassion in Children and Youth” is a workshop designed for those who interact with and care for youth. Teachers, parents and researchers will come together to explore meditation and compassion as tools to build resilience in youth. Presenters will include doctors, psychologists, and youth workers who are experienced with mindful and meditative practices. Attendees will review the latest research on meditation and learn several meditative techniques that can be taught to youth, including teaching compassion and connection building. | ||
