MagnificatBoston is a group of singers "from parishes in the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts and beyond" who are dedicated to the performance of Anglican choral Evensong. In monastic tradition, Evensong are the prayers said before retiring for the night.

The 25-member group performs once each month at a parish or chapel in the diocese, singing both English period and new American liturgical music.

Prayer Life is the annual diocesan Episcopal Church Women's retreat, led by the Rev. Barbar Smith-Moran, which will take place Friday, May 2, and Saturday, May 3 at St. Margaret's Convent, 17 Highland Park in Roxbury.

Cost is $60 for overnight, $30 for just the Saturday session; scholarships are available.

The reservation deadline is April 18.

This workshop, presented by the diocesan Congregational Business Consultants, is aimed at parish treasurers and other parishioners and church employees who are interested in acquiring the tools and resources to make maintaining a vital and viable parish easier and less fraught with stress.

This course meets the training portion of the requirements established by the Diocese of Massachusetts for licensing as a Eucharistic visitor. A two-person team, consisting of a member of the clergy and an experienced Eucharistic Visitor, will introduce participants to the history and practice of this important lay ministry. It is recommended that the sponsoring rector attend the same session if he/she has not participated in a training course during the past three years.

The parish historians of the diocese will hold their twenty-fifth annual meeting at St. Andrew's Church in Ayer on Saturday, May 3. The general topic of the meeting will be church architecture.

Check-in begins at 9:15; the meeting begins at 9:45.
