Christians, Muslims and Jews are sister faiths, tracing their lineage to the patriarch Abraham and his sons. As siblings, we share many of the same biblical characters, along with the same God. The stories are as nuanced as the sibling relationships are complicated. Throughout, God consistently appears to be fair, loving and generous to each of them. Join a day-long conversation devoted to exploring biblical siblings Cain and Abel, Ishmael and Isaac, Jacob and Esau, and Rachael and Leah. Come prepared to read carefully, think deeply, share openly and shine a new light on these seminal texts. Bring your Bible!

Helen Goodkin, MA, SCHC, retired early to pursue a degree in her love, biblical studies, at the General Theological Seminary, graduating in 2002. Since that time, she has devoted herself to mentoring Bible study groups in many denominations. She is delighted to be back at Adelynrood to share her knowledge of things biblical and to be enriched by conversation with Companions and guests.
