Journaling takes many forms: a commonplace book of treasured quotes, sketches of the natural world, a record of travel, a place to give voice to the inner life of mind, heart, self-awareness and reflection. It can be a place to share a narrative, or spark and sustain a creative life, or simply give thanks. In this workshop, participants will go beyond writing to play with letters, color, words, shapes and images to design and lay out pages, crafting a look that is fresh, beautiful, original and evocative. Participants will engage in exercises that stimulate curiosity to wonder and ask and look at things in a new way.

Leader:  Jeanne Paradise, EdD, SCHC, is a practicing artist, teacher and retired psychotherapist. She is involved in many forms of the arts: creative dance, fiber arts and literacy crafts. She teaches workshops in color, lettering, design and bookmaking. Her paintings and handmade books have been exhibited at the Concord Art Association, the Brooklyn Sketchbook Museum and the Old Schwamb Mill Gallery.
