The topic of this year's Province One deacons' conference is Healing as a Way of Ministry: Growing in our Roles as Servant Care Givers, by presenter Deaconess Louise Williams, a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Williams is the former executive director of the Lutheran Deaconess Association, fomer president of DIAKONIA of the Americas and Carribean and currently president of the DIAKONIA World Federation.

Attendees are encouraged to read the presenter's monograph, Growing in Ministry: Formation for Diaconal Service,   published by the North American Association for the Diaconate (www.diakanoi.org).

Dates: Friday, Oct. 3 - Sunday, Oct. 5

The registration fee is $200, due by Monday, Sept. 1. Conference participants are expected to make their own arrangements for accomodations; a block of rooms has been reserved at the Doubletree Hotel.
