Whether you’ve never written a poem or you have a long practice of writing, you will find in this monthly workshop enough quiet, support, and camaraderie to explore poem-making as an act of reverence for the natural world.
God speaks to us in and through the things of the world, and poem-making, like prayer, is the soul’s way of responding. Poets bring their attention and imagination to what they see, hear, and feel, serving as witnesses for God’s everyday glories and mysteries.
Poetry is a life-cherishing force. And it requires a vision ~ a faith, to use an old fashioned term. For poems are not words, after all, but fires for the cold, ropes let down to the lost, something as necessary as bread in the pockets of the hungry.
