Bishop Tom Shaw and Bishop Gayle Harris invite everyone and every congregation to be a bearer of peace, and to join one or more emerging efforts of our B-PEACE for Jorge Campaign focused on ending violence through youth programs, support for parents and families, jobs for teens and young adults, partnerships with underresourced schools and gun reform advocacy.

Join Episcopalians from across eastern Massachusetts on Saturday, Sept. 28 for our B-PEACE Resource Day at Roxbury Community College when we will formally launch our B-PEACE for Jorge Campaign

The Rev. Kathleen Adams-Shepherd, Rector of Trinity Episcopal Church in Newtown, Conn., will be with us to share her community’s story, as will Urban Improv with some innovative presentations.  There also will be workshops for adults and youth on a variety of responses to violence so that we will come away inspired and equipped to build peace in our congregations, schools, families and communities.

The event is free, but pre-registration is requested.  (There is an optional $10 box lunch for adults that must be ordered when registering online; free pizza is included with youth registration).

Online registration is now open, here.

Use the poster and bulletin insert attachments below to help spread the word.

Our diocese's Jorge Fuentes Antiviolence Task Force and B-PEACE for Jorge Campaign honor the memory of the 19-year-old member of St. Stephen's Church in Boston who was murdered in September 2012.  His leadership as a peacemaker through youth programs in our diocese inspires us to B-PEACE in our congregations, schools, families and communities.  Learn more at www.diomass.org/b-peace.
