Elizabeth PisaniThe Technology and Culture Forum at MIT presents Elizabeth Pisani, author of The Wisdom of Whores, speaking about her work studying the epidemiology of HIV/AIDS.
Pisani is an epidemiologist who has spent over a decade working on the HIV epidemic. She has done research and worked as an advisor for the ministries of health of China, Indonesia, East Timor and the Philippines. She has also provided analysis and policy advice to the World Bank, the World Health Organisation, UNAIDS, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and many others. She is especially interested in trying to ensure that HIV prevention programs are guided by sensible analysis of high quality information.
