Boston Episcopal Charitable Society

The Boston Episcopal Charitable Society, established in 1724 by charter from the king of England, provides supplemental financial assistance to individuals in Episcopal congregations throughout the greater Boston area and beyond through their parish priests.

Case Trust/Bristol County Fund

The Case Trust, left by the Case family of Swansea, provides funds to support the diocesan mission in the Episcopal parishes of Bristol County.

Church Home Society

The Church Home Society is an independent non-profit corporation related to the Episcopal Church. Its objective is to provide support to young persons through a program of making financial grants to both religious and secular organizations which work with and/or for young persons, and further to provide such support in other ways as may be determined to be useful by the Society.

Congregational Development Grants

The objective of the Congregational Development Grant program is to support and encourage congregational vitality through assisting congregations in the implementation of our diocesan mission - growing congregations in mission. The Congregational Development Grants Program exists to challenge and to support all of our congregations as they prayerfully reflect on current and proposed programs that deepen and strengthen congregational life.

Diocesan Loan Committee

The Diocesan Loan Committee (formerly the Stokes Fund Committee) provides term loans to congregations for the following:

  • Loans of up to $75,000 for 15 years to support repair and/ or improvement to existing structures
  • Loans of up to $100,000 for 15 years to support significant renovations and/ or improvement of facilities

Green Grants Initiative

The Green Grants Initiative encourages, challenges and supports all the congregations in the Diocese of Massachusetts in environmental stewardship.  The Green Grants Initiative currently has two components:  Simple Acts of Stewardship and Green Improvement Grants.  Congregations may participate in one or both.

Massachusetts Scholarship for African Students in America

The Massachusetts Scholarship for African Students in America (MSASA) is a joint program of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts and the Episcopal Divinity School. The purpose of the MSASA grant is to provide funds for two consecutive years of post-graduate theological education in the master of arts degree program at the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge for an ordained lay man or woman from Africa.

Scholarship Fund for Children of Clergy

Children of clergy canonically resident or licensed in the Diocese of Massachusetts (and their widows/widowers) are eligible to apply for scholarship grants.  Grants are for undergraduate degree programs for the 2012-2013 academic year.

Sending Serving Grants

Sending Serving Grants enhance the outreach ministries of Episcopal congregations in the diocese by providing financial support through seed money for new and existing programs that support the diocesan mission strategy.

United Thank Offering

The United Thank Offering (UTO) grant program, established by the women of the Episcopal Church in 1889, funds projects which "address compelling human needs and/or expand mission and ministry." The projects must also receive support from an Episcopal or Anglican organization.
