The mission of Refugee Immigration Ministry (RIM) is to serve asylum seekers and those detained by the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) through social services, pastoral care and advocacy. RIM is an ecumenical/interfaith ministry with strong ties to the Episcopal congregations in the diocese.
RIM's activities include:
Other projects of RIM include a support group for African women, a project in Lowell for at-risk youth in the Cambodian community, as well as assistance in addressing English as a second language. We also started a legal services program which offers legal services at a reduced fee and we have a computer lab.
We are an affiliate of Episcopal Migration Ministries.
The work of RIM serves as a national model for addressing the needs of refugees and immigrants.
