St. Gabriel’s Church (124 Front Street) in Marion is offering a community service workshop series: “Before that day comes… Living Well and Dying Well.”  The goal of the workshops is to help south coast residents take thoughtful and practical steps in reflecting about, discussing and planning for a well-written last chapter of their life stories. Community members of all ages and stages of life are invited to participate.

Sessions run on Wednesday nights from Feb. 24 to March 31 at the St. Gabriel’s Parish Hall.  Participants should register by Feb. 17.

Each session will begin at 7 p.m. The format will be a 40 to 50-minute presentation with a question and answer period. There will be a short break with refreshments. Participants will then divide into small groups or family circles to adapt and apply the material they have received for their own situations. This provides a supportive atmosphere to talk about delicate subjects with others who are facing the same issues. Sessions will conclude at 8:30 p.m.
