Seventy-five years ago, a band of writers and artisans in Orleans - talented metallurgists, wood carvers, weavers, designers, painters, stained glass artisans and more - wanted a church nearby that suited their needs. These people were the force that brought the Church of the Holy Spirit into being in Orleans, and this heritage is reflected in the many gifted artisans who are parishioners of the church today.
The Second Art Show, part of the church’s 75th Anniversary Celebration, is an exhibit and sale by over 40 over these gifted artists. The art on view will include all entries in the Commemorative Artist Competition; the winner will be announced during the show.
The event will also feature performances by musicians from Holy Spirit, and guided tours of the church at 11 and 1.
