Lessons in Leadership from the Early Church will be the theme at this leadership retreat led by Bishop M. Thomas Shaw, SSJE. As a prelude to his soon-to-be-published book, Bishop Shaw will offer
three meditations on leadership issues inspired by his study of the New
Testament and life among us. Come as individuals or congregational leadership teams for a day of reflection, prayer and conversation about leadership.
The retreat will be hosted by St. Stephen’s Church in Lynn on April 12 from 9 a.m. to 3p.m. The cost is $10 for one; $25 for three; and $50 for seven. Lunch will be provided.
The money raised over program costs will support fellows of Building a New America (BANA) from St. Stephen’s Church, La Iglesia de Gracia in Salem and St. Andrew’s Church in Marblehead. BANA is a group of teens who have organized to study and address issues of race and class. Fellows have already made a mission trip to central New York to address farm worker justice issues; they are currently raising funds for a trip to the Gulf Coast in June.
