For opposing your will in our lives
For denying your goodness in each other
For the evil that enslaves us
For the evil we have done
For the evil done on our behalf
For our greed and selfishness
For our blindness to human need and suffering
For our indifference to injustice and cruelty
For our waste and pollution of your creation
For our reliance on militarism, coercion and war
we repent, O Lord
For our world and its needs
For the leaders of the nations
For wisdom and guidance for George, Tony, and Saddam
For Kofi Annan
For the members and representatives of the United Nations
For the members of the Security Council
For all who share in the government of the nations

For all members of the armed forces of the world
For chaplains, medics, non-combatants and conscientious objectors
For their spouses, partners, children and families
For all who have died in battle and the innocent victims of war and terror
For civilians who live in fear and danger

For our friends and those who wish us well For all people of good will
For our enemies and those who wish us harm
For all peacemakers and those who keep the peace

For all who live in the midst of war, terror and fear For the people of Iraq
For the people of Israel – Palestine
For the people of North and South Korea

Lord hear our prayer
Jesus, Word made Flesh Jesus, Prince of Peace
Jesus, Beloved of the Father
Jesus, when you come to be our judge
have mercy on us
That you would bestow on all nations the gift of peace
That you would show us your mercy
That you would grant wisdom to our leaders
That you would forgive us our sins
That you would teach us to forgive others as you forgive us
That you would teach us to love our enemies
That you would grant us your peace
we beseech you to hear us
Let us pray

Almighty God our heavenly
Father, guide the nations of the world into the way of justice and
truth, and establish among them the peace which is the fruit of
righteousness, that they may become the kingdom of our Lord and Saviour
Jesus Christ. Amen
