“Interpret the Church” New England Deacons Network Biennial Conference
The North American Association for the Diaconate, along with the Episcopal dioceses of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Vermont, will sponsor “Interpret the Church: Communicating the World and the Word,” a conference for deacons, deacons in formation and supporters of diaconal ministries, to take place Friday Oct. 1-Sunday, Oct. 3 at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel (1657 Worcester Road) in Framingham.
"Pray Serve Reflect" Day of Service
Members of Life Together, the diocese's young adult intern program, welcome all to "Pray, Serve, Reflect" on Saturday, Sept. 11 by joining them and others from Episcopal churches and communities across the diocese for this second-annual Day of Service.
Summer Sings at Seven
The Church of the Holy Spirit (Monument Road at Route 28) in Orleans hosts Summer Sings at Seven, a bimonthly get-together of singers, with the audience as the chorus. The Aug. 18 session will be "An Evening with Wolfgang," led by Joseph Marchio, newly appointed conductor of the Chatham Chorale. It takes place 7-9:30 p.m., with a suggested donation of $8 to cover refreshments and use of a score.

“Spirit of Lughnasa” Mini-Retreat
All are invited for a mini-retreat on Celtic spirituality, “The Spirit of Lughnasa,” on Saturday, Aug. 7, 3-4:30 p.m., at All Saints Parish (1773 Beacon Street) in Brookline. The retreat will be led by Harvard Divinity School graduate Kieran Conroy, who will share the history and themes of the ancient Irish festival Lughnasa. Celtic Holy Eucharist follows the retreat at 5 p.m., with a potluck appetizer social hour at 6 p.m.

Interfaith Prayer Service with Mandaza Kandemwa
All Saints' Church (79 Central Street) in Stoneham will offer an interfaith, multicultural prayer service with healer and peacemaker Mandaza Kandemwa of Zimbabwe. The service will take place on Sunday, July 11 at 4 p.m.
July 4th Organ Recital
Douglas Major, internationally known concert organist and music director at St. Michael's Church, Marblehead, will play a July 4th organ recital on the church's C.B. Fisk organ. The program will include music by American composers Joplin, Gershwin, Sousa and others. The recital is free and open to the public, and will last approximately 45 minutes.
