The Diocese of Massachusetts has introduced a temporary grant program designed as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Congregations affiliated with the Diocese of Massachusetts or its organizations, including ecumenical, interfaith and community partnerships, are invited to apply.
Criteria for applications have been expanded to include assistance with building technological capacity in congregations. Funds from the Diocese of Massachusetts COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund are to be distributed towards these four areas:
- Ensuring salaried and hourly staff members and their benefits are paid.
- Assisting at-risk households within the community and the congregation.
- Assisting congregations with payment of building expenses, such as utilities.
- Assisting with building technological capacity.
Grant applications will be considered for up to $5,000. Find more information and the online grant application form here.
Applications are due by the end of the day on Saturday, Aug. 15 for funds currently remaining. Find the online grant application form here. This grant program will be temporarily suspended following the Aug. 15 grant cycle. Future announcement will be made regarding the resumption of Emergency Response Fund Grants upon replenishment of available funds.
