Barbara C. Harris Camp registration now open for summer 2016

camp 2015 The Barbara C. Harris Camp in Greenfield, N.H., has opened registration for its 14th summer. Online registration is now open, and will close on June 15.

“Summer 2015 was sensational: lots of happy campers, cherished memories and new friendships. In 2016, we wish to continue building upon on our success and to make our camp even better,” wrote camp director Alessia Doss wrote in a recent letter to families. “BCH Camp has a very short five-week summer season. As such, it is difficult to fit in all the camps and programming that we desire. In order to allow access to our site to as many individuals as possible, we have made the decision to move to a Sunday to Friday camp schedule.”

This change makes several things possible. Family camp can be more integral to summer camp programming, camp staff will have a day off between sessions and the facilities staff will have an additional day to prepare for incoming campers. The camp facilities will also be available for churches that wish to run church-led family retreats on weekends.

Check-in will still be from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sundays, and closing ceremonies will be after lunch at 1:30 p.m. on Fridays. To assist ease the transition, the camp has expanded transportation options to include two new bus routes with stops at St. Anne’s Church in Lowell, Grace Church in Medford and Trinity Church in Bridgewater. On Fridays, these parishes will provide care and supervision to campers until 6 p.m. The new bus routes will also make the summer camp programs accessible to a broader demographic of families.

The 2016 summer camp dates are as follows:

Session 1: Sunday, June 26 – Friday, July 1

Session 2: Sunday, July 3 – Friday, July 8

Session 3: Sunday, July 10 – Friday, July 15

Session 4: Sunday, July 17 – Friday, July 22

*2 Week Session offered for EDGE and Base only during Sessions 3 + 4

Session 5: Sunday, July 24 – Friday, July 29

Family Camp: Friday, July 15 – Sunday, July 17
