BigTent group gathers educators, youth workers

There's a new online network at www.bigtent.com/groups/diomassed for all in the Diocese of Massachusetts who work in Christian formation for children, youth and adults.  It's a place for sharing ideas, resources and information about events and trainings, and to network with one another.

"We hope this will allow more sharing among colleagues and parishes around education topics," said Amy Cook, Missioner for Education, Formation and Discipleship.  She and Sam Gould, Director of Youth Ministry, set up site.  "You can start a topic of discussion, share files and download what others have created, post photos from events, check out dates on the calendar or share your own church events with others, and use the classifieds section when looking for specific materials or trying to find a good home for unneeded supplies," Cook said.

Joining the group requires registering first with BigTent, and then signing up to join the "diomass education" group.  "This is a closed group so information shared is only seen by members, and some basic information is required to make use of the site," Cook said.  "This a free resource paid by corporate advertising, but it meets our needs well.  Once approved by the administrator you may begin sharing and downloading the information online, starting your own discussion groups or posing questions to other churches throughout the diocese."
