Union United Methodist Church and St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church in Roxbury will host their 45th annual breakfast celebrating the life, work and ministry of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
All are welcome.
Keynote speaker will be civil rights pioneer and Voorhees College President Cleveland Sellers. Governor Deval Patrick will be honored with an award, and scholarships presented to seniors from the Jeremiah Burke, Madison Park and John D. O’Bryant high schools.
Bishop Alan M. Gates of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts will offer prayer. Other invited speakers include Governor-elect Charlie Baker, Boston Mayor Martin Walsh, U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren, U.S. Senator Ed Markey and Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey.
