The bishops of the Diocese of Massachusetts invite all to gather to share stories and enjoy delicious foods from around the world at a free dinner event, "Honoring Refugees Among Us: Share a Meal, Share a Story," to take place on World Refugee Day, Thursday, June 20, 5 p.m., at the Church of the Holy Spirit (525 River Street) in Mattapan.
Refugees and immigrants, and those who are working or desiring to work in alliance with them in advocacy, are particularly welcome.
The program will include not only presentations addressing matters of interest to refugees and immigrants--such as securing housing and how to respond to law enforcement so that rights are protected--but also will highlight cross-cultural sharing and lay plans for next steps in networking. All are welcome.
RSVP by June 17 to email@example.com.
Questions may be directed to the Rev. Canon Jean Baptiste Ntagengwa, Canon for Immigration and Multicultural Ministries (617-482-4826, ext. 400 or firstname.lastname@example.org).
