The Church of St. Andrew in Marblehead will hold its traditional St. Nicholas Night on the second Sunday of Advent, December 9.
“Parish youth act out a St. Nicholas legend,” says Reverend C. Clyde Elledge, rector of St. Andrew’s. “It’s a whimsical way to connect St. Nicholas with Santa and the origins of Christmas gift giving.”
Although the activities begin at 5:30, attendees are encouraged to arrive around 5:15 to put straw in their shoes for St. Nicholas’s donkey. Dinner begins at 6 p.m. and a carol sing will follow.
The public is invited to attend the event. The church is at 135 Lafayette Street (Route 114), Marblehead, near the Salem line and is handicapped accessible. For more information visit www.standrewsmhd.org.
