The Office of the Bishop has issued the following notice:

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We are saddened to inform you of the death of the Rev. Richard Leeds Payne in Hyannis, Mass., on March 12, 2020.
Richard was the staff psychologist at the S. L. French Youth Forestry Camp in Brewster, and later the school psychologist at the Nauset Middle School in Orleans from 1971 until his first retirement in 1998. He then worked part-time at the Cape Cod Lighthouse Charter School until his second retirement in 2008. His service to the diocese included assisting at the Church of St. Mary of the Harbor in Provincetown from 1969 until 1970, and occasionally over the years at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Orleans.
A memorial service will take place at a date yet to be determined.
May the soul of God’s faithful servant departed rest in peace and may light perpetual shine upon him.
