The strife is o'er, the battle done;
the victory of life is won;
the song of triumph has begun.
Alleluia!

Beloved of God—

May the joyful strains of Easter songs, the signs of life in God’s Creation all around, and the lengthening days and warming sunlight remind you that God’s enduring love will always have victory over hatred, that the light of Christ shines through any darkness of death.

New life is all around us, and we are invited to practice Resurrection through our care for others, our witness to justice, and our abounding hope and joy in Eternal Life.

Blessings and joy to you this Easter and Eastertide. It is a privilege to be your bishop and to serve our living God together with you.

With love, and Easter gladness,

+Julia

The Rt. Rev. Julia E. Whitworth

The Easter message tells us that our enemies, sin, the curse and death, are beaten. Ultimately they can no longer start mischief. They still behave as though the game were not decided, the battle not fought; we must still reckon with them, but fundamentally we must cease to fear them any more.    Karl Barth
