A message from Bishop Shaw following day of lock-down

With the remaining Boston Marathon bombing suspect apprehended the evening of April 19, after a day of lock-down in Boston and surrounding communities, particularly Watertown where the search was intensely focused, Bishop M. Thomas Shaw, SSJE issued the following message:

"It’s a relief to have the events of this long day behind us.

"Let’s continue our prayers for all who have been touched by the violence of the past week and all who have worked tirelessly for our safety. Please also remember our sisters and brothers of Trinity Church in Boston who are still not able to be in their building and will most likely be worshiping at Temple Israel this Sunday.

"On Sunday I will be with the people of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Watertown, who will, happily, be able to welcome everyone with doors wide open. Thanks be to God."
