RIP: The Rev. David J. Siegenthaler

The Office of the Bishop has issued the following notice:

April 27, 2020

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We are saddened to inform you of the death of the Rev. David J. Siegenthaler in Cambridge, Mass., on April 16, 2020.

David was curate at Emmanuel Church in the City of Boston 1955-1957, and rector of the Church of St. John the Evangelist in Duxbury, 1957-1978. He served at weekly Friday services at the Society of St. Margaret, both on Beacon Hill and in Roxbury, and later in Duxbury, beginning in the early 1970s and continuing until 2011. David also served on the faculty of the Episcopal Theological School, later the Episcopal Divinity School, in Cambridge, from 1969 to 1995. Following his retirement, he continued to serve as archivist and curator of special collections in the school’s library.

A memorial service will be held at a date yet to be determined.

May the soul of God’s faithful servant departed rest in peace and may light perpetual shine upon him.
