Join with Episcopalians witnessing for love and joy during Pride celebrations this June!
The Diocese of Massachusetts plans to have large and visible delegations of LGBTQ+ people and allies walk, march, sashay (take your pick!) in Pride celebrations across eastern Massachusetts as we witness God's love for all people. Together let's offer care to people who have been harmed and make the church meaningful to people who have been pushed away.
We're hoping to show up not just as Christians and Episcopalians but also as parishes within the diocese. The Pride Planning Team asks parishes and individuals to sign up here for both local events and the Boston parade.
Wherever you participate, we suggest you:
- Bring water, snacks, and a fully charged phone.
- Wear comfortable clothes, walking shoes, and a jacket (optional). Clergy are encouraged to wear a clerical collar and a rainbow stole if you like.
All are welcome to attend any Pride celebration.

Boston
June 6
Bishop Julia invites all in our diocese to join her for Boston Pride for the People this Saturday. Many worshipping communities have already signed up, but no prior registration is required. Everyone is welcome to join.
If you have questions, please contact the Rev’d Liz Steinhauser at lsteinhauser@diomass.org.
When: Saturday, June 6 at 11 a.m. Bishop Julia will lead a short liturgy of blessing at 11 a.m. as the parade begins.
Where: We will gather in front of Lindt Chocolate at 704 Boylston Street, on the southwest corner of Boylston and Exeter streets. This location is accessible by the Green Line at Copley, the Orange Line at Back Bay, and commuter rail at Back Bay Station. Parking is difficult and extremely limited, and roads throughout the Back Bay will be closed, so please take public transportation if possible.
Festival table: The Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts will also be represented at Boston Common, Booth 316.
Weather: Parade and events are on rain or shine. Forecast predicts low to mid 80s with partly sunny skies at parade time, but please check the weather Saturday morning and dress accordingly. Sunscreen is recommended.
Pride shirts: For those who do not yet have a diocesan Pride T-shirt, volunteers will be handing out shirts Saturday morning at 704 Boylston.
What to wear: A diocesan Pride shirt or something else comfortable and festive; comfortable shoes for walking. Clergy are encouraged to wear clerical collars, under a Pride shirt if preferred, and rainbow stoles if they have them.
What to bring:
- Water and snacks.
- A fully charged phone.
- A rain jacket, depending on weather. Umbrellas are discouraged due to the crowds.
- Church banners, for parishes and worshipping communities that have them.
What to expect: The parade begins at 11 a.m., following a 1.7-mile route on flat, paved roads. It will likely take about two hours to walk the entire parade route.
Donations: If you are able, please consider a donation to help offset the cost of the diocesan Pride witness, including T-shirt production. Donate here and choose "Pride 2026" in the drop-down menu.
Pets: Service animals are always welcome. While Boston Pride allows well-behaved dogs on leash, please be advised that there will be large crowds, moving vehicles and noise.
- Read Presiding Bishop Sean Rowe's letter on Acting Faithfully in Troubling Times.
